Not long now, until the second album from these melodic rockers, is played around the UK and beyond. ‘100% Proof’ was such a dynamic debut when it surfaced in 2019, introducing Gin Annie to the wider world and gaining them an army of followers. The rise since has been tremendous with the band playing numerous festivals, headlining gigs and appearing at shows, practically non stop. Hard working and ever busy, nevertheless the guys from the West Midlands, always have time for their fans and if you visit their social pages there is always something happening to entertain you.

‘Not Gonna Take It’ has already hit the decks as a single ( 28/4/23). A riot of guitar, mixed up with a typical GA melody, it’s one the fans will love and will undoubtedly reach high in the rock charts. ‘Last One Alive’ drives with catchy lyrics that the guys are so proficient in accomplishing. David Foster’s melting vocals, with his cousin Byron Garbett on guitar duty, seals a partnership that’s interwoven with class and precise finish. It gets nice and messy for ‘Rain’, the guitar intro is crunchy and low, just enough to see the lyrics shinning through and Lewis Turner’s drums can be clearly heard, playing a big part in maintaining the rhythm. Another with an outburst of an intro is ‘Perfect Nightmare’, it just wizzes with speeding and cutting pace. A guitar solo echoes with grandeur and there’s no let up right to the end. We are only four tracks in, but the quality is already amazing. As ballads go it must be difficult to write one that has something unique, but ‘Someday’ is one that definitely stands out. Beautifully written and having heartbreaking lyrics, it’s a piece of utter magnificence.

The album returns to more rocky standing on ‘Before’ and ‘Until You’re Mine’ both having the trademark GA melody and bouncing tempo and they fit in nicely, to let ‘UND/V/DED’ breathe with so much energy. The track ‘Crazy’ is the one for me, this is totally flawless and one of the most incredible pieces I’ve heard for an age. It starts with plenty of snare and entangled guitar, then as David’s vocals come in and soar over the harmonies, the bass of Phill Burrows adds even more structure, stunning work. Remastered for the album, ‘Devil In Me’ originally came out as a single in 2021. This updated version is more mighty in weight and it still retains that moodiness, the guitars providing ample worthwhile strings.  ’Sand’ is brought in acoustically, simple guitar and vocals that ring with gentleness and that’s an unparalleled track to end the album on.

“The sophomore studio album is often regarded as the difficult one and many a band have stumbled at this hurdle, but not these guys. UND/V/DED is as natural a follow up to 100% Proof as can be written, the next chapter begins…”
