BLITZ / KICKING UP A STORM  – 22/9/23 

HIGHLIGHTS - Shellshocked, Keep Moving On, I’ll  Find You In Yesterday, Kicking Up A Storm.   Kicking Up A Storm was recorded at Axis Studio Doncaster by Matt Elliss. And will be out on Shock Records Via Vanity Music Group on September 22nd. 10 brand new studio songs all written and performed by BLITZ. Album comes in a Jewel case cd , a 10 page full colour booklet with lyrics and new artwork by Big Dave Hurst.

THE TREATMENT/MANSWORTH/DEAD DEMONS – Queens Hall 5/8/23 

. ‘Children’ has a sleaze ridden and weighty bend of a groove with Laurie on his Flying V and Rob adding maracas to give even more balance. While ‘Evil Lies’ is faster and Rob raises his vocals to a new level. Bouncing and flowing ‘Rock In A Hard Place’ gets our hands in the air and then it’s down to a slower Rhythm and Blues feel for ‘When The River Runs Dry’. Laurie takes to his battered old Telecaster on occasion, I’m sure that guitar could tell a few tales and as they leave us with ’Stone In Your Shoe’ I’m still transfixed.

The Heat Inc / Asleep In The Ejector Seat – 28/7/23

oduce music that fills a void in todays scene. ‘Ms.Willie Mae’ and ‘Samson’ are fine examples of how they do this, the latter is brilliantly put together, the feeling of trepidation and torment is mind blowing. With the title ‘Ultraviolence’ you would expect another heavy and crashing track, but no this is a ballad and quite a soulful one at that. Softly pressing chords and a flowing end to the album, one I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.  Getting a load of praise from recent gigs, this London based quartet are destined for bigger things and now this album has dropped they will emerge into the limelight, that’s for sure.

THE TORN THREADS / HONEY SOAKED – 23/6/23 

of what ‘The Torn Threads’ are going to provide us with, then count me in. A great introduction to new music that has snippets of what has gone before, but is as fresh sounding as you can get. They may add a bassist in the near future, which would work well.

KISS/ SKINDRED/ THE WILD THINGS – Resorts Arena Birmingham  – 5/6/23

I really enjoyed the show tonight, it was everything you would expect from KISS and the support bands were awesome. Another thing I thought was special was the amount of friends that were there. I didn't see half of them, but isn't it good to know you are watching an amazing performance in the company of your mates, who although are dotted around the arena, are sharing your experience. Thank you KISS for bringing us together, we will miss you x

SHARKFEST / DAY 2  – THE STATION CANNOCK  15/4/23 

The end of Sharkfest 3 , which has been a total success. An array of bands that organisers Sharon Crosby and Mark Parsley, not only managed to get on board, but also planned the running order with so much thought. The Station is one of the best venues for festivals this size and David Clarke and his team do all they can to accommodate you. A bar with decent prices and you could even grab some food. Have to thank the whole festival team for their efforts. Sharkfest 4 is already planned for October 28th and Sharkfest 5 will be next March, this is one of the most well organised and friendly of festivals and after the feedback from this one, I think they will sell out in future. Well done everybody.
