This past Sunday night, MMH headed down to The Hare and Hounds in Kingsheath to catch the country rock group Tricky MC, featuring members Paul Carella, Billy Moran, Mandy Clarke, and Mark Sheppard (known to many as Crowley from the hit show Supernatural). Although they were the only band on the bill, the night was anything but dull.
The evening began with a humorous anecdote from the band about how they initially arrived at the wrong Hare and Hounds, only realising their mistake because the other venue actually had parking!
One of the standout moments of the night was when Paul Carella improvised a song about receiving voicemails from his young daughter, which really resonated with the audience. The setlist was a mix of their original songs and a couple of covers, but what truly made this gig special was the intimate atmosphere. The band took the time to interact with the crowd, creating a relaxed and engaging vibe that’s often missing in larger, high-energy shows.
As someone who usually photographs intense metal concerts, this show was a refreshing change of pace. Tricky MC put on a fantastic performance, and they’ve definitely gained a new fan in me.
