the manic shine

London alternative hard-rock quartet THE MANIC SHINE are extremely proud to announce they will be releasing their new album ‘Trial & Triumph’ via PledgeMusic on 13th November 2015.

“Over the last year and a half we’ve been through a lot together and right now we’re making the best music of our lives – we CANNOT wait to show you guys” say the band on their forthcoming new release.

A multicultural mixing pot of flavours and sounds, their own unique blend of alt-rock, classic rock and metal pulls influence from titans of modern rock as varied as Rage Against The Machine, Soundgarden, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Hendrix and A Perfect Circle. Whether it’s melodic crooning, racing thrash, screaming solos or a wall of unstoppable riffs bursting from a stack of red-hot Marshall amps, The Manic Shine’s music reads and sounds like a turbulent who’s who of the great and the good of the rock world built around a core of top class song writing that any of their contemporaries would be proud of.

On their diverse sound, front man and guitarist Ozzie Rodgers comments; “Sometimes I’ll hear something in a pop tune, it could be one rhythm in a vocal or a shaker or something, and I’ll go ‘that’s a sweet idea’ and then try and recreate something similar. We don’t leave anything off the table. That being said, we tend to have a basic ‘musical palette’ to work with and the ideas get fed through that and come out the other side sounding darker and heavier. My father had an enormous record collection and took it upon himself to school me in everything from Van Morrison to Hendrix, The Doors to Santana, Rolling Stones to Depeche Mode to…how much time have you got?! Mainly classic rock and blues though – they’re pretty much the go to genres to get inspired to play guitar – and that’s all I’ve wanted to do ever since I heard Voodoo Chile…”

The last year has seen the London foursome go from strength to strength, with 2014’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘Let Go Or Be Dragged’ showcasing a tour de force of rock musicianship and genre-bending gaining airtime on XFM, Amazing Radio, Scuzz TV, BBC6 Music and BBC Introducing as well as support from Kerrang! Magazine.

Now with producer Lee Batiuk (Deaf Havana) on board, and the release of two exciting singles ‘Haze’ and ‘Blind Love’ under their belt already, progress shows no signs of slowing down for the band who are all set for a busy and exciting 2015.
