A Ritual Spirit Release New Single
‘Free The Fallen’ on 18/02/22
Free the Fallen is a song about letting go of the past.

It’s the third single from A Ritual Spirit’s upcoming second album “Elements” which will be released in two parts. Friday 18th February 2022 will see the physical release of Elements I on CD along with a music video for Free the Fallen – the online release of Elements I is set for 13th May. Elements II will follow at a later date.

A Ritual Spirit are a four piece alternative heavy rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland.

A Ritual Spirit Are:

Vocals/Guitar: Oli Bowker
Lead Guitar: Fuzz MacIntosh
Bass/Vocals: Martin Gray
Drums: Dave Cumming

A Ritual Spirit burst onto the alternative scene in 2013 with angsty debut album Carnival Carnivorous, including the singles The Way I Died and Visceral Decay. Subsequent UK tours followed as the boys played from Aberdeen to London and anywhere in between, sharing stages with the likes of Warrior Soul, The Rocket Dolls and Sworn to Oath.

When bassist Craig departed in 2015 the band went without a settled line-up until Martin joined the tribe in the summer of 2016. From there A Ritual Spirit went on to headline the Moshville Times Stage at Wildfire Festival 2017 and reach Bloodstock’s Metal To The Masses Semi-Final in Glasgow the same year. In 2018 going one better, roaring into the Grand Final and claiming victory, earning a slot at Bloodstock Festival 2018 and playing on the same bill as Gojira and Judas Priest.

New guitarist Fuzz joined in early 2019 and this current line-up embarked on several short tours of Scotland and North England before releasing The Antidote EP that November – hailed as “The best thing the band has achieved yet” by one reviewer and “Oozing class from start to finish” by another.

2020 saw the band play a home-town Primordial Radio Presents show and complete a short tour before lockdown put a halt to proceedings. Several online shows followed, notably at Breaking Bands Vi{rtual}2 Festival and Frontline Festival Scotland.

A Ritual Spirit recently returned to playing live with a short tour of Northern England and Scotland this autumn. Now the cobwebs have been firmly dusted off they look forward to hitting as many new towns and cities as possible next year as they promote the new album.

The band are hosting an album launch show on release day at Legends in Edinburgh, with tickets available from skiddle.com priced at £6 plus booking fee. Support on the night comes in the form of local heavyweights Battalion of Flies and west-coast rockers Darkness Divine.

Free The Fallen is the follow up to Underneath and Zion, the first two singles taken from Elements and releases 18/02/22.

A Ritual Spirit

The six new tracks which form Elements I were recorded last July as A Ritual Spirit returned to
work with producer Bryan Ramage (Ramage Inc.) who also oversaw the band’s previous release
The Antidote EP back in 2019.

The Edinburgh four-piece are difficult to pinpoint into a genre but “Alternative Heavy Rock” comes
somewhere close. With performances at Bloodstock and Wildfire under their belt plus numerous
tours pre-lockdown, the band are poised to bounce back this autumn with their first live dates since
March 2020:
