live evil berlin

UK underground Heavy Metal blow-out Live Evil Festival crosses the Channel and invades the continent for the first edition of Live Evil Berlin!

We are very proud to present the first edition of Live Evil Berlin, which will take place at Cassiopeia on May 27th-28th.  Legendary festival Live Evil was born in 2010 to put together an event inspired by Fenriz´s beloved ‘Band Of The Week’ picks and his passion for music. Although having expanded beyond BOTW borders now, the core of the festival still remains underground Heavy, Speed, Doom, Metal Punk, Death and Black Metal from all over the world.

On a quest to spread mayhem across the channel, Live Evil has teamed up with local promoter Wolf City to set up the first edition of Live Evil Berlin. Expect two days of raging heavy metal in one of the best venues in town; Cassiopiea. The event will be closed with a late night after-party at the neighbouring club Urban Spree.

Bulldozer (ITA): the italian thrash metal legends need no introduction. Their Venom- and Motorhead-inspired racket caused for much uproar in underground circles since their incept in 1982,  shunned by the regular press (the infamous 0 points reviews in Kerrang! and Metal Hammer magazines a testimony to their uncompromising sound) but inspiring for a whole generation of Thrash, Death and Black Metal musicians. After a two decade-long break, Bulldozer reformed in 2008 and haven´t stopped since, releasing new albums and setting stage aflame all over the world. Their live-act is a force to behold!

Degial (SWE): one of the best new Death Metal bands around to tie their sound directly to the glory days of the first Morbid Angel offerings, Degial from Uppsala are tolling the death knell once again on the wave of their second album “Savage Mutiny”. Leathery wings flapping at breakneck speed, the sound of darkness before the fatal strike.

Chapel of Disease (GER): this band from Köln has been on many “album of the year”-lists for 2015 – and rightly so! Their last opus “The Mysterious Ways of Repetitive Art” is a monster of old-school death metal with a good amount of classic heavy metal influence in the beautiful guitar lines, not losing an ounce of power and darkness in the process. Carrying the torch of infernal tradition with style.

Amulet (UK): the rightful heirs to the NWOBHM glory days of England, Amulet from London deliver classic heavy metal the way it´s supposed to sound: fast guitars, double-bass attack, the right portion of melody, never losing touch with the 70´s roots of the genre.

Zex (CAN): this band from Ottawa plays, quite literally, “metal punk”. Forget about the Mad Max, post-apocalyptic thrash which is usually associated to this tag: Zex are four punks (one of them being Jo from Iron Dogs-fame) which bring a ´77 vibe and fuse it with NWOBHM guitars and a good portion rock´n´roll. Straight, simple and damn effective.

Occvlta (GER): Celtic Frost/Hellhammer worship from Braunschweig/Berlin. Their demo “We Command the Wolves” was one of the first to receive the honour of being featured on Fenriz´s Band Of The Week and they were part of the first edition of Live Evil Festival in 2010. No bullshit, no postures, straight-for-the-throat black metal attack – blood messiahs! Expect great things from their first full-lenght to appear in 2016!

Vorum (FIN): their last offering, the mini-LP “Current Mouth”, was one of 2015 highlights. Ferocious death metal which looks straight up to the infamous Necrovore demo, adding a strong portion of coldness and over the top chaos. Riffs that hurt and a punishing live-act on top. The definition of DEATH metal.

Hard Action (FIN): featuring two members of speed metal stalwarts Speedtrap, Hard Action bring hi-energy rock´n´roll like it was 1995 all over again and Hellacopters were the flavor of the month. Expect blazing guitar firing on all cylinders!

Indian Nightmare (GER): mohawks + long hairs = bullet belt destruction. These young Berliners have made a name for themselves in the last year, bringing their crust-influenced speed/thrash all over Europe. Fire meets steel!
