Live From Rock City, Nottingham
Walter Trout played to an enthusiastic crowd at Rock City. Supported by the Young, Hair flicking Jared James Nichols, looking a lot like a young John Sykes during his Thin Lizzy days.
The night got off to an energetic guitar screaming demonstration of this young lads ability’s…..supported by a strong back line, equally keen on shaking their hair. Shampoo commercials aplenty for these boys in the future.
Walter Trout, the man lucky to be still alive, then came on and showed the youngsters how to entertain a crowd. His effortless style putting huge smiles on faces as he played, effortlessly through a back catalogue of classic ‘Trout’……. his album ‘Battle Scars’ featured heavily in this set, ‘cut’ after he’d undergone extensive surgery to transplant a liver, the old one suffering with the effects of ‘Rock n Roll’… ( A classic case of Cirrhosis ). A happy and rejuvenated Trout went on to ask that the fans consider carrying a Donor card, without which he say’s he’d be another 2016 statistic.
Trout then went on the blow everyones minds with an extraordinary display of why this guy is a Legend and continued playing way past the 10:30 curfew.
A fantastic way to spend a school night…
