With their debut album “i saw hell when i was with you” now well established and helping to provide the soundtrack to the Spring and Summer for many in the UK and beyond, downcast return to bring one last dose of the album (for now) to fans old and new…with a twist.

The Bristol emo/alt-rock quartet have taken the closing track from their album, “i want to love again”, and added some new elements to it. These changes have given the song an even bigger impact than the original. It remains a slow burning modern emo anthem, but with increased atmospherics, giving the listener an even bigger impact when the song hits full power.

i want to love again is the fifth and (currently) final planned single from i saw hell when i was with you. A journey that started almost two years ago with the release of the anthemic single catharsis has led downcast to this point. Since then, downcast have taken fans on a journey across their full musical range, picking up new fans with each new single released. Be it the soaring “britannia mills” or the spark of “hell”, the upbeat pop punk sound of “a weight that i can’t stand” or the darker tones of “mistakes that i have made”, every downcast single has found ways to resonate with listeners. Forged from a collection of the life experiences of frontman Liam Edwards, guitarist Ben Lucas, bassist Jeff Bowyer and drummer Jamie Hill, downcast are delighted to be able to share their full length debut. The album was produced by Ian Sadler (Cold Bones, Delaire The Liar) and comes three years after the release of their first EP.

With backing from Kerrang, Rock Sound, Spotify and YouTube official editorial playlists, Punktastic and State Of The Scene over the course of 2022 to name just a few, downcast have been making a name for themselves with the UK music press.
