This morning, alternative rock band “Dead!” took to their social media to announce their departure from the music scene as they cancel all further summer shows and announce their last farewell performance.

In a heartfelt statement shared directly with their fans, the London-born boys briefly explained that they won’t be playing any other shows or festivals except their sold-out headlining show in The Underworld, London, this October which they’ve now stated is their “farewell show.”

Whilst no explanation has been given as to why the band is breaking up, they did go on to thank the fans for their support, saying that “To those of you who have been here from the start, and those that have recently joined, we love you. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of something bigger than ourselves….” The full statement can be seen below:

This comes as a shock to the majority of their audience as the band had only just sky-rocketed to stardom in the past year with their debut album “The Golden Age of Not Even Trying.” Whilst fans flooded through with supportive messages, it appears many feel that Dead! had only just broken through the industry as a successful, new-age alternative rock band that had an exponential future with more music on the horizon.

However, this ideal future has been cut short as the band have announced that their last show will be their sold-out gig in The Underworld, London, where they’d promised fans that their latest album “The Golden Age Of Not Even Trying” would be played in full.

Dead!’s last show will be at The Underworld, Camden, London

This news came after they’d cancelled their appearance at the Camden Rocks Festival last minute, where they were set to appear alongside fellow talents Twin Atlanic, Mallory Knox, Hacktivist and this also means they will no longer be playing bigger appearances like 2000Trees Festival or Leopalooza Festival that they were set to perform at for this coming July.

We’re sad to see a rising talent leave the industry, but what are your thoughts on Dead! breaking up? let us know on our social media and we’ll get chatting.
