Punters arriving on Friday are strongly urged to reconsider their plans, as Finnish heavy metal sensations Battle Beast headline the Sophie Lancaster stage on Thursday 10th August. Marrying hard hitting riffs with irresistible pop hooks, the group’s not so secret weapon is charismatic front woman Noora Louhimo, who can switch from gritty, wailing banshee to ’80s pop songstress at a moment’s notice. Sure to go down a storm, Battle Beast will almost certainly get the festival off to a great start.

Writers’ pick: Current setlists rely on their latest record, Bringer of Pain (review here), but for consistency and quality, their self titled album is where to go.

Band of the day chosen by Kevin Mcdonald, Reviewer.
