BIO

Over the course of the past few months, Manchester-based ASHES have been stowed away in various practice rooms and recording studios, writing what they believe to be the best music any of them have personally written to date.

Having formed from the ashes of a variety of different bands, they took this fact, and turned it into a name for the new project. The band first started out as a group of friends, chance meetings and the love of similar music, but quickly turned into something a little more serious than just writing songs for fun.

“…we all got together in a small recording studio, and started laying down ideas. At first it was for fun – something different from everything we had all done before. Then, we wrote ‘Halo’ and showed it to a few people we all knew from playing in bands, and it had an amazing reception.” Says Jonny Meaney, Vocalist in Ashes.

It was this that led them to seek out help from producer David Jones (Heaven’s Basement, Glamour of the Kill) and start writing and recording the debut EP. Starting with the aforementioned ‘Halo’ rerecorded, which is available for a free download at www.ashesofficial.co.uk

After a handful of shows Ashes got taken on by global booking agency, TKO. Armed with what they believe to be great songs and huge ambition Jonny Meaney (Vocals), Benj Ashmead (Drummer), Ben Grimsley (Bass) and Ad Lucas(Guitar) are set to bring epic metal to all areas of the UK.

“…the most important thing for us is that we love the music, we believe in it…hopefully, others will too.” Smiles Jonny.
