Operating outside the musical mainstream, their sound has been described as an amalgamation of psychedelic rock, industrial, synth-pop and avant-garde stylings. Touring constantly, although rarely in the UK, they have maintained a fiercely loyal cult following worldwide, sustaining the group through a lengthy career that has seen them release more than 40 albums to date.

The core members of the group, Edward Ka-Spel (vocals, keyboards, songwriter) and Phil Knight [a.k.a. The Silverman] (keyboards, electronics), were joined by guitarist Erik Drost and sound engineer Raymond Steeg in 2013 for The Gethsemane Option, the band’s first album for Metropolis Records. Members of The Legendary Pink Dots have also collaborated with the likes of Nurse With Wound, The Dresden Dolls, Jarboe, HNAS, Jim O’Rourke and cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy.
