ANNOUNCE UK TOUR DATES FEB 2020
Belgian 5 piece THE GURU GURU today (Dec 3rd) release the brand new video for‘Delaware’ recorded live at the Hightime Studio in Herk-De-Stad, Belgium. ‘Delaware’ is taken from the band’s sophomore album ‘Point Fingers’, which will be released on Luik Records (BE) and Grabuge Records (FR) on January 31st 2020. THE GURU GURU’S new album digs even deeper into turmoil than their last; An auditory aberration that spirals into madness. “This is one of the first songs we started working on for the album. It’s a song about having lost the ability to feel… It’s bout being stuck in a place where nothing can make you feel and struggling with addiction. It was really the only thing I was able to write about at the time.
The idea of calling it Delaware came as we were talking about the green screen scene from Wayne’s World where they show themselves in all these exotic destinations, then someone accidentally slipped in a greeting card from Delaware. It just comes off as a pretty dead and dull place with nothing but concrete. The song could just as well have been called ‘Ruhr Area’ or ‘Baltimore’… Delaware just sounded like the state I was in at the time: bored, grey, dead and dull.”– Tom Adriaenssens WATCH ‘DELAWARE’ HERE

THE GURU GURU ‘DELAWARE’ (Official Music Video)
The forthcoming new album ‘POINT FINGERS’ was produced by Wouter Vlaeminck (Raketkanon, Kapitan Korsakov), mixed by David Bottrill (King Crimson, Tool, Coheed and Cambria) and mastered by Heba Kadry (Chelsea Wolfe, Deerhunter, Lightning Bolt).
THE GURU GURU has been happily dealing in borderline rock since 2012, combining feverishly angular guitars with off-kilter, poly-rhythms all complimented by erratic and unhinged vocals. While TGG’s influences are drawn from the likes of METZ, Pere Ubu, Deerhoof, The Jesus Lizard, The Mars Volta & Andy Kaufman, the indie-math/psycho-noise rulebook is torn apart, resulting in chaotic songs that somehow seem to develop into wriggling earworms.
Praised for their live performances, THE GURU GURU is a must-see… With palpable, electric energy oozing from the stage, vocalist Tom Adriaenssens balances on the verge of theatrical psychosis. TGG has made their mark playing across Europe sharing stages with the likes of Brutus, Raketkanon and Kapitan Korsakov as well as appearing at festivals such as ArcTanGent (UK), Portals (UK), Ment (SLO), Monkey Week (ESP), Rock Herk (BE), Sziget (HU) and Pukkelpop (BE).
